Chef Jay Bethel is the Co-owner/Executive Chef of Heaven’s Kitchen Catering Company, Atlanta, Ga. Chef Jay has been providing quality catering service for over twelve years, retooling classic food favorites like lobster bisque, Asian style short ribs or shrimp with grits. He is the creator behind the art and passion of this gourmet, contemporary, Southern cuisine - www.chefjay.org.
Chef Jay’s catering experience in the culinary arts is extensive; he auditioned for Top Chef and Next Food Network Star contender, 2007. He catered for Bold American Catering and Dennis Dean Catering. His tenure with Barton G., Inc. in Miami provided catering experience in servicing 1000's of party-goers during the South Beach Food and Wine Festival. Chef Jay also catered along the side of Executive Chef Ted Mendez for the Food Network Show filming of “Behind the Bash”. In 2015 as the Executive Chef of Big Texas BBQ and Waffle house, we were awarded Best Newcomer and most commended by Time Out Magazine Bahrain Restaurant Awards.
Chef Jay oversees the daily operations of Heaven’s Kitchen Catering Company where he provides gourmet meals at reasonable prices for local church fellowships, weddings, retirement functions, graduations, business lunches or a jump-start brunch. On any early morning trek Chef Jay can be found thumping melons, clutching fresh herbs and spices, or treating peaches, plumbs and berries with respect He possesses an intelligent, down-home understanding of infusing technology with food science when preparing for his clients. He also incorporates family meal planning, shopping on a budget and eating healthy and green tips on his Heaven’s Kitchen Blog and Face Book Page. He is an active member of The World Association of Cooks Society, International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) and actively mentors up-and-coming chefs.
